OCU Scholarships
The Office Committee Union (OCU) is dedicated to supporting its members and their families. In alignment with this commitment, the OCU has established the OCU Scholarship Program. This program awards a total of twelve thousand dollars ($12,000.00) annually to six (6) legal dependents of active, retired, or deceased OCU members. Scholarship funds are allocated as follows: four (4) general scholarships at two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) each; one (1) technical or vocational scholarship at two thousand dollars ($2,000.00); and one (1) scholarship for a student pursuing a master’s or doctorate degree, also in the amount of two thousand dollars ($2,000.00). Eligible dependents include graduating high school seniors, current college freshmen, sophomores, or juniors, or those who have graduated from high school within the past two years. Should any scholarship category lack qualified applicants, the Scholarship Committee reserves the right to reallocate funds to other eligible categories as deemed appropriate.
The deadline for completed applications is no later than 3:00 pm Monday, March 09, 2026. Applications received after this date will not be accepted even if postmarked before this date. The OCU Scholarship Committee has created an application package detailing applicant requirements and a fillable form allowing applicant to populate their information electronically before printing. You will need to use both forms!! Please use the checklist in the program packet to ensure all required documents are submitted with your application. Only complete applications that include all necessary documentation will be accepted for review by the Scholarship Committee. All applicants must have their counselor/administrator’s signature and their own on the application. Handwritten and incomplete packages/applications will not be accepted. The Scholarship Committee has reviewed all scholarship applications and has awarded this year’s OCU Scholarships to six recipients!
We received seventeen applications from students who met the scholarship criteria, and we would like to thank all applicants for their time and effort in applying. On March 26, 2026, the five members of the Scholarship Committee selected the recipients based on their essays, letters of recommendation, applications, and resume scores. The Committee has successfully notified the winners, and an awards dinner is planned for Tuesday, April 21, 2026.
